Race Weekend Gets Shortened by Rain..05/05/2008
Due to a rain out at the Terra Haute Action Track, Bret and the gang had to sit Friday out and race in Brownstown, Indiana, on Saturday. Bret’s ability to qualify is proved once again as he sets a 4th quick time at the USAC show in Brownstown and due to the inverting line ups for the heat, Bret started in the back and made his way up to the transfer spot, but unfortunately slid off the race track making him run the Semi. The night ended early due to the fact that Bret and another guy got together which did not allow him to transfer to the Main. Sunday’s rescheduled Terra Haute MSCS show was all about moving forward. Bret was able to go from the back to 5th in the heat transferring to the back of the Main to finish 15th. Not a bad series for the Mellenberndt Team as they gear up for this next weekend starting in Bloomington on Friday, Eldora on Saturday and then finish out in Kokomo. So keep in tune with www.bretmellenberndtracing.com for all your latest results and news updates, and sooner before later you will see a victory for the Mellenberndt Team. Special Thanks to Matt Jacobs, Keizer Wheels, Sioux City Truck and Trailer, DMI, Howe Racing, ATL Fuel Cells, WolfWeld Chassis, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Hoosier Racing Tire, Ultra-Shield and Petersen Motors.

Weather Cooperates for the Mellenberndt Team04/28/2008
The weather finally cooperated for the Mellenberndt Team and they were able to start their race weekend Friday in Bloomington, Indiana. Bret was able to qualify 9th out of 51 cars, finish 3rd in the heat and with an ill-handling racecar, Bret went from the back to finish 14th in the main. Saturday’s North Vernon venue was not a complete loss; even though they were not able to make the main, they still made success out of the night learning some new tricks with the WolfWeld Chassis. Sunday night in Kokomo Bret was able to master the heat race and come out top and then have a respectable finish in the Main. The Mellenberndt Team is young, and with more and more races yet to come and everything going in the right direction, you can expect to see Bret at the top of the charts very soon.

Double Header in Gas City gets Shortened by Rain04/21/2008
The two-day show in Gas City, Indiana, gets shortened for the Mellenberndt Team. They were able to race on Friday, but Saturday’s show was cancelled due to rain. Friday night went well though for the Mellenberndt Team; Bret was able to use his qualifying skills to guarantee him a starting spot in the Main Event in which he was able to bring home an 18th place finish. Not too bad for a field of almost 50 and no provisionals to count on. Bret’s plan is to head back out to Indiana for a three day weekend next weekend starting in Bloomington which will end in Kokomo. Keep in tune with www.bretmellenberndtracing.com for latest results and news updates and also would like to give out a shout out to Matt Jacobs, Keizer Wheels, Sioux City Truck and Trailer, DMI, Howe Racing, ATL Fuel Cells, WolfWeld Chassis, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Hoosier Racing Tire, Ultra-Shield and Petersen Motors.

Weather Strikes Again for the Mellenberndt Team04/11/2008
The weather is always a crap shoot in the world of motorsports. Mellenberndt and the team decided with the preposterous price of fuel and the high percentage of a rain out tonight in Bloomington, IN, that they just as well stay home for the weekend. It is just hard to justify making a 1600 mile round trip to get rained out. Don’t be alarmed though, the Mellenberndt Team will be back at it again next weekend for the double header in Gas City, IN. Keep in tune with www.bretmellenberndtracing.com for latest results and news updates and also would like to give out a shout out to Matt Jacobs, Sioux City Truck and Trailer, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Howe Racing, WolfWeld Chassis, Hoosier Racing Tire, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Ultra-Shield, Petersen Motors and ATL Fuel Cells.

Rain in Danville and Eldora Postponed04/05/2008
As every racer knows, the weather has a big effect on how the weekend racing turns out. Rain was the factor this weekend for which it did not allow the Mellenberndt Team to make the trip out East for the shows at Vermillion County Speedway in Danville, IL, and the USAC race in Rossburg, OH. Mellenberndt and the crew, not able to go racing, decided to make the weekend somewhat of a success and show the car off at the annual race car show held at a local Sioux Falls pub. The next race on the schedule will be this coming Friday in Bloomington, IN, followed by the MSCS opener in Brownstown. Keep in tune with www.bretmellenberndtracing.com for latest results and news updates and a special thanks goes out to Matt Jacobs, DMI, WolfWeld Chassis, Hoosier Racing Tire, Keizer Wheels, Ultra-Shield, Petersen Motors, Sioux City Truck and Trailer, ATL, Howe Racing and Brown & Miller Racing Solutions.

Vegas - Night two of two..03/01/2008
We have to give a shout out to the Mellenberndt crew for getting the new DMI rear end in the car and ready to rock for the second night of the USAC/CRA show in Vegas. Bret’s proven success as a qualifier put him 4th quick to start out the night. Finishing 5th in the heat gave him a respectable starting position in the feature, but managed to have some mechanical issues to unfortunately end his night early. Keep a watch on www.bretmellenberndtracing.com for results from the upcoming show in Perris. A special thanks goes out to Danny Drinan, Bill Mellenberndt, Matt Jacobs and Randy Joseph.

Vegas - Night One of Two..02/28/2008
Racing in the grease in the first qualifiers race put Mellenberndt in the 17th qualifying spot and the front row for the heat race. Backing up his quick time qualifying efforts from last week in Phoenix, Bret was able to nail the heat with a first place finish. Up to 11th in the feature Bret managed to get tangled up with another car and destroying the rear end. With the amazing help from DMI, Bret and the gang will put a new DMI rear end in the WolfWeld Chassis and be ready to rock and roll for the second night in Sin City on Friday evening. Special thanks to Danny Drinan, Bill Mellenberndt, Matt Jacobs and Randy Joseph.

Mellenberndt sets Quick Time!02/16/2008
After the USAC show was rained out on Friday, Bret goes out and sets Quick Time on Saturday's USAC show in Manzanita, came from the back after a crash in the heat and finishes third and then places 8th in the Main Event. We consider this a great success for the Mellenberndt Team and can't wait for the next show in Vegas! Special Thanks goes out the crew - Matt Jacobs, Randy Joseph, Bill Mellenberndt - Rick Stewart for the use of his shop, and also Doug Wolfgang and Danny Drinan.
